What a wallet does

A crypto wallet helps users manage addresses and sign transactions. It does not usually store coins inside the app like a normal file.

The blockchain records balances. The wallet controls access by using private keys to approve actions.

Hot wallets and hardware wallets

Hot wallets are connected to the internet and convenient for everyday use. Hardware wallets keep keys offline and can reduce some security risks.

Both require careful behavior. Users can still sign harmful approvals, visit fake websites, or expose their backup phrase.

Wallet safety basics

Never share private keys or seed phrases. Bookmark official sites, verify links, review approvals, and be careful with popups that ask for signatures.

Use a small test transaction when learning, and separate long-term storage from high-risk experiments.
