Liquidity in simple terms

Liquidity is the amount of available value that lets buyers and sellers trade without causing extreme price movement.

A token with deep liquidity is generally easier to trade than one with a tiny pool. A token with weak liquidity can move sharply from small trades.

Why liquidity affects risk

If liquidity is low, selling may create heavy slippage. In some cases, users may not be able to exit at a reasonable price.

If liquidity can be removed by insiders, the market can collapse quickly. That is why liquidity ownership and locks matter.

What to check

Review pool size, trading volume, pool history, lock status, and whether the token has multiple reliable markets.

Compare liquidity with social hype. A project can look popular while still having very little real market depth.
